MEET THE ARTISTS:
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP: Born and raised in Redondo Beach, CA.
WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY: My pops was a big photography enthusiast and he always had the latest and greatest photo technology. He was constantly making images and had a lot of fun doing so. That quickly grabbed my interest and finally, when I was old enough (in his eyes), I got to play with one of his fancy cameras.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU: I surround myself with a lot of talented people. Their amazing skills range from: photography, illustration, design, music and other forms of art. It also comes to me as experiences and brief moments I live day to day.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE IMAGE THAT YOU'VE TAKEN: There is an image of a M.A.C. lipstick I’m really proud of. It’s simple, graphic and has part of the product cutting off. This image demonstrates the perfection in the imperfections.
Another favorite image of mine is not product related. It’s of a man with an incredible story I photographed for my South Bay personal project. Let's just say it involves Mexican cartels and old-Hollywood celebrities. His blue janitorial jumpsuit and smoke stained mustache are the best!
WHAT ARE ONE OR TWO OF YOUR FAVORITE MOMENTS FROM PAST SHOOTS: Both instances involved alcohol on set and clients/creatives that like to have fun. I’ll leave it at that.
IF YOU WEREN'T A PHOTOGRAPHER WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD: My original path was to be a cardiologist. If I had not decided to drop out of med school for photography, I still think I wouldn’t be doing that. I know for sure that I would be doing something art related.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE HISTORICAL FIGURE: Nikola Tesla. I’m a big tech head and without him, none of this would exist.
WHAT SONG GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD MOST OFTEN: Don’t Stop - Fleetwood Mac. I’m not sure why.
IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE FOOD FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE: Extra glutinous bread & peanut butter.
WHAT IS THE ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT YOU WEAR MOST OFTEN: Plaid and/or all black with sneakers.
WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE: “It’s Ok, I Can Say That Because I’m Brown”.
WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU'VE EVER DONE: Go with my gut and attend art school.
WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED SO HARD IT HURT: My brother and I were reminiscing about our childhood.
WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TALENT: Fix-it-all.
WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO DANCE MOVE: A simple two step with a little twist.
WHAT IS THE STRANGEST THING IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR: Type 55 Polaroid.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND AFTER A BUSY DAY: Love to hang out with the girlfriend and all of our friends. (Even though all we talk about is work/photo.)
