MEET THE ARTISTS:

Cécile Gariépy

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP: Montreal, Canada

WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN ILLUSTRATION: When my parents wouldn't let me draw on the walls of our apartment. You know, we always take a little more interest in what's forbidden.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE THAT YOU’VE CREATED: My favorite pieces are those that are the result of genuine teamwork. For example, I could never have done this mural on Décarie Boulevard in Montreal without the help of my reckless producers and assistants. I am forever grateful and also very proud of us.

IF YOU WEREN'T AN ARTIST WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD: Pastry chef?

WHAT SONG GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD MOST OFTEN: Happy Birthday. But I think I don't have enough friends to make this song relevant everyday.

WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL: Does Kermit the frog count as a spirit animal?

IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE FOOD FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE: Tomato sandwich

WHAT IS THE ONE ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT YOU WEAR MOST OFTEN: Blue jeans

WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY BE: “Hello, it’s me”

WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU'VE EVER DONE: Deciding on which city to live in (this is still an internal debate).

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED SO HARD IT HURT: The first and last time I went cross country skiing. It was very funny (and won’t happen again).

WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TALENT: I make a mean carrot cake.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO DANCE MOVE: Throwing my hands in the air, and waving em like I just don't care.

WHAT IS THE STRANGEST THING IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR: An excessive number of hot sauce jars.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO UNWIND AFTER A BUSY DAY: Petting my dog until she drools is a wonderful way to disconnect from my day.
